Roll of Honour:
From Hugh Norton – Rocky served as a Junior both at Plymouth and later Oswestry where he will be remembered as a top jiver both in the 54 Club and the Plaza in town. I visited Rocky earlier this Summer and found him in good spirits despite been in constant pain with hip and knee problems. His mobility was much diminished but he remained to the end proud of his IJLB associations and more especially his Coldstream affiliations. We shared a wealth of stories and memories of our service together Big Dusty having been a particular influence on both our young lives. He was very disappointed that he wouldnt be able to make the Memorial Weekend next year but Im sure that not a few glasses will be raised in his memory. He also served as a drill/weapons instructor at the Guards Depot Pirbright.
From Robin Wallis – I served with him in Plymouth and Oswestry as he was part of the first 14 boys to join the Guards Company in 1959 and was presented to the Queen and Prince Phillip at Plummer Barracks in recognition of the fact we were the first platoon of boys.
