From Colin Harwood – Lofty went to the regiment in 1975 and joined 18 (Mobility) Troop. In 1977 he transferred to 19 (Mountain) Troop and was regarded as one of the regiment’s best climbers. He had completed the German Alpine Guides’ course and climbed in Nepal and China.
From Brian Kilty – Lofty was a great mountaineer and climber He died in the Sea King incident in the Falklands
